Who Am I?

Iam a flower quickly fading,
Here today and gone tomorrow,
A wave tossed in the ocean,
A vapor** in the wind.
Still you hear me when I'm calling,
Lord, you catch me when I'm falling,
And you've told me who I am.
I am yours.**
Sometimes (especially back at school) I would spend a lot of time 'star gazing'. Now normally when people look at stars, its usually a romantic type activity..(if this was the case, then I spent some of my most 'romantic' moments with one of my best friends Tom...which is not the case..I hope....!!!...) anyway...for me star gazing is probably one of the most disturbing activities i can think of....
This is because, every time I look at a star, it makes me feel like the most insignificant thing in the whole entire world. That little speck up there looks small...but its probably about a bazillion times bigger than our planet...which means compare to me...its probably a million bazillion times bigger...
And then I start to think...HOLY COW...there are a LOT of people in this world...and I am just one china man (plus the fact that we all look alike doesn't help HAHAHAHA...)
*sigh.......
SO doesn't that make it amazing when God tells us that he loves each and every single person....hears all of our prayers....knows us by name....lives in our hearts....catches every tear....carries us through storms...the love He has for us...is anything but insignificant
*this is the chorus from a Casting Crowns song...Who Am I...
its a new favourite of mine (even though its quite an old song)..man i wish i could right like they do...
** the correct spelling for this word is in fact VAPOUR
the next parable will be arriving soon...
