Today is Christmas day. It has been an amazing day is so many different ways. God spoke to me today, and once again, I feel like prayers have been answered. God is good, all the time.
"And the first time that You opened Your eyes
Did you realize that You would be my Saviour?
And the first breath that left Your lips
Did you know that it would change this world forever?
And the first time that You opened your eyes
Did you realize that You would be my Saviour ?
And the first breath that left Your lips
Did You know that it would change this world forever?" (Relaint K - Celebrate the Day)
This is an awesome song.
Today at Christmas lunch, I was playing with little Gabriella. Gabi is what I would describe as a 'sugar lump'!! She is a baby, just like Jesus was once a baby. As an educator of young children, I often try to imagine what goes on in their minds. What do they think? How do they think?
Did Jesus realise, when he was born, that he would be the greatest 'world shaker and waker' this world has/will ever seen?
Putting all your 'hopes and fears' into a small baby seems like a ridiculous thing to do. A baby is helpless, a baby needs constant round the clock care.
What Child is this? This a child who came down to earth to bring faith, hope, love and joy. A baby who came to save.
Christmas brings about so many different feelings. I feel special because of my family and friends. I feel sad because I know that there are so many people out there who missed all the joy this Christmas. But I feel love, because God loves us so much, he chose to come here, leave his perfect existence and come into a sin filled world.
I think I understand what it means to put your hope into a child. When I look at the children in my class, and I really do see hope. Amongst all the darkness, pain and suffering, the innocence of a child reminds me that the bad things of the world, do not dominate. But we can defeat them.

I like this blog very much - mostly because you quote Relient K. :) But I really do like it. Take the wise men - they were 'wise' - yet they chose to lay faith in a child. They had not yet seen that he would perform miracles, saving lives and even better, saving souls.
We are reluctant to lay faith in anything, but these WISE men lay faith in a tiny child. Most people would label this foolish.
I think this is true for the thief on the cross too. What faith would it take to see someone at His very weakest and still believe that He could save the world?
What a great God we serve, Ellison!
